Default Have Dynomax Bullets and Want Sweet Thunders

Hey guys I have an Ls1 Rx7 that I am hopefully going to be getting on the road very shortly. I already have the entire exhaust set up with dual 3in all the way back with an X pipe and mandrel bends. I want the car to be loud but I need to clutch in an cruise by the local cops so the dynomax bullets I went with are ok. I went with them because a buddy of mine has a camaro with them, which sounds pretty decent. I finally figured out tonight that all my favorite sounding Ls1s have something in common, they all run sweet thunder chambered mufflers. After figuring this out I'm sold that I'm gonna get them, I just wanted to know if I should run them in addition to my dynomax bullets or intead of them.

Here is what I consider probably the best sounding ls1 out there.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/t...-ory_31669.htm

And I have read that these mufflers shrink down to an internal diameter of 2.5, even if you get the 3in mufflers but Demonicbird00 (whos car is also one of my favorite sounding) seems to be getting plenty of performance out of his setup.

My friend has a Sweet Thunder muffler and I have a Dynomax Bullet.. I definitely think his car sounds better.

Yes, it's true..the 3" is actually 2.5" on the inside...

Classic chambered Powersticks (almost identical to Sweet thunders) have true 3" through the muffler if you are worried about it. I have Sweet thunders myself and love them!

Just order the 3.5" Sweet Thunders and get reducers to fit into your 3" system.

I agree on that video being the best sounding LS1, atleast with the stock cam. I saw that video and now ive bought all the exhaust parts that car has except the sweet thunder, which is coming in a few weeks.

They aren't listed on the website, but the company will make them for you.

How would the 3.5" Sweet Thunders sound with a SLP LM 1 with Lt's and cam? I might do this with the reducers. Would it quiet it down at all?

Just personal preference or do you have a reason?

Oh, I misread your post.. I didn't know you were considering running them both.

You could add a Sweet Thunder to help make it a little more quiet... and add a electric cutout before the Sweet thunder.

Cruisin' around it sounds mellow, then open it up with the flip of a switch!

I can only go off of what I read and saw, but the bullets are proven on cars making over 600RWHP so I don't believe they lack flow, but the Sweet Thunders sound awesome. I didn't like what I've heard about the interior necking down though so I bought bullets.

If you like the sound go with them. I can't see where running around with 4 mufflers would be any worse then having 2 cats and 2 mufflers. Post a clip if you keep the bullets.

If I can fit em I am gonna run both the Sweet thunders and bullets together. There are a few clips of people running sweet thunders and they basically either sound great or awful.. I dont know whether its the camera or what but I am hoping the bullets further mellow out the sweet thunders, and the 2 together eliminate the rasp/drone, while both are straight through designs.

I am just hoping I have room for some tips. Why is it that all the exhaust tips on summit are at least a foot long??

What length did you get? I got the 18" and I think there is a pretty big difference in their sound between the 18 and 30"
