Default head porting how much of a difrence

so right now ive got my heads at the shop geting ported, decked, 3 angle valve, the works the guy is good. my question is did you guys with ported heads see a huge diffrence in how the car responds, drives, and makes power. also ive been reading about the impala head gaskets and am not sure if i should use those or another set who uses which head gaskets and how do they like them. my dad told me to get cometics but i just was looking for another oppinion.

unless you are boosted or spraying alot cometics are probably overkill. plus they require a very fine surface finish. i would go with either the impy gaskets or the mr gasket/equivalent. they are a bit thinner than the impala

I would get the Victor Reinz .026" compressed thickness gasket I think part number 5898. They are cheaper than the "Impala" gaskets and are essentially the same exact thing just .026 versus .028.

Heads can makea HUGE difference, BUT there are various levels of "good". Not all reputable shops can make the small port high velocity heads lik the LT1s work right even if they are genuinely good with other stuff.

I don't know why folks get all excited about a 3 angle valvejob either, that could be better or worse than stock.

As said Cometics need a particular surface finish, the Victor are a good choice.
