Default Best cutout setup for single exhaust.

If I were to put cutouts on my car with a single 3 inch where should I put them/it. Two on the end of the headers? Or one single on at the end of the Y pipe?

I have been watching this Thread for a day now because I was wondering the same thing. I have LT's with a ORY and I was wodering if putting a cut out after the Y might help a little bit?

I run dual cutouts a few inches behind the header collectors. If I were to do it again, I'd run my Pacesetter ORY, weld in a 3" in/4" out Flowmaster merge, 4" cutout behind that, then reduce it to 3" into the catback. My dual cutout setup did show some nice gains over the capped exhaust on the dyno though. Not so much up top, I only gained 4rwhp peak, but the midrange fattened up a lot.

I have one right in front of the muffler and I love it. It has never been capped in 6 years. My car is a DD. Recently I added a set of Longtubes and it is LOUD when I get on it. I LOVE THAT SOUND.If you want a little more noise and performance add 2, one on each side before the Y pipe. I may do this down the road.

I have mine welded in behind my converter. I have stock manifolds and stock muffler too.

I'm going to be getting LT headers and ORY. I'll probably ditch my converter then, or just put in a test pipe.

I'm not sure if I'll like the sound with it open anymore, but it'll be fun. haha
(I'll still stay with my stock muffler too)

I have an electric cutout on one of my other cars. Been thinking about putting one of the Formula as well.
