Default gm847 cam question

ok guys I have a dumb question and im sure people will give me crap about it but ill ask anyways. i want to install the gm847 cam and just want to replace the minimum to put this in, its not a drag car and its not a everyday driver its just for fun once in awhile. what parts do i need to do this cam swap? thanks.

as far as i know you will need a head gasket set, and upgraded valve springs at the very least. plus once its installed you will have to get a tune. do you happen to have the GM part number for the GM847? i have a friend that works for GM and he was tyring to find it for me, but couldnt locate it by that number. any help would be much appreciated.

Check out the cam sticky at the top of the page, and then search. I believe the minimum you would need to get the cam in is just some new springs and gaskets. That being said, the only part I would be somewhat comfortable without changing would be the lifters. Might as well do it right and get roller rockers, new hardened push rods, etc.

Any way you look at it, a bare minimum cam swap will still cost $700+ range with an accompaning tune.
