Default There has to be a easier way to clean/prep calipers?

I'm having my calipers painted this week so I took off all my calipers and brackets to clean them. The paint shop said to just get a rag and a brush and scrub them with kerosene. I thought it might be bad for the gaskets but they said its not. The only thing is that its taking forever. It took me a half-hour to clean one of the rear calipers. I had to do it outside on the concrete because of the fumes and now my back is killing me. I'm rady to fill up a bucket with about three gallons of kerosene and just let them soak one at a time and then clean them. My dad said it would be faster if just bought a dremel tool with a steel brush and a nylon brush and clean them that way. Also, should I be wearing gloves when using kerosene? My dad says it absorbs into your skin and causes nerves damage later in life. What should I do? Thanks.

The dremel tool with the 60 grit sander, followed by hand sanding with 400 grit sandpaper will make them smooth as a baby's ***.

You don't need gloves when using the kerosene, thiugh the gloves don;t hurt to have on. After awhile of having your hands in the kerosene your hands will get really dry and white. Well that is just what I have experienced.
