Launch Delay
I got a 97' Z28 A4 with a CAI. Everything else is stock. Had her tuned maybe 8k miles ago. I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I'm sure its got a delay when I hit the gas pedal. I'll floor it and it will just sit for maybe 3 or 4 seconds. It WILL take off, I was able to keep up with a GTO off the line this morning (I hope he didn't know how to shift or something). But yeah, this lag is killing me, any ideas... is it normal?

It happens like this...
Car is driving like normal ~2000 rpm, 190 degrees F, everything looks good.
goat tosses me a rev
i push the pedal to the ground, rpm goes down to like 1800 rpm
sits at 1500-2000 rpm for maybe 2 or 3 secs <---- ????
car shifts, needle hits almost 6k rpm, keeps up with goat
Its like I hit the gas and the car thinks about it for a couple of seconds. Nothing happens right away.

Sounds like normal A4 downshift delay. I always account for that when I was street racing my LS1 auto from a roll. Also the reason I bought another M6 this time around.
From a dig Autos rock. When your moving its kinda hope for the best or really know what mph your car likes to fully downshift at, but then that delay your talking about happens and the other car already has a head start.
