Default 98'+ hood on a 97'

I know...they're not the same around the head lights and what not, but aside from the headlight hugging contours - would it fit length and width wise?
I rear-ended someone and ruined my hood via a well placed Reece hitch. It also ruined my right headlight bezel and killed off my front bumper with a nice square ripped into it.

So, I'm contemplating a budget front-end conversion. But for now I'd like a hood that will latch lol.

So my questions are:
Aside from looking out of place till i get the rest, Will it fit?
Will it latch?

Thank you for your time,
Anthony

These seem to look about the same aside from the curves for the headlights:
But that doesn't mean it will latch...

It will fit,b ut you need a bumper and fenders and all the brackets plus the headlights to make that hood work. Width is the same though

That was my plan, i just questioned if it will fit within the same area that the other hood does. so i can use it for the time being while i gather the other parts and get it all together, so i can spend a weekend and put it all on at once.

They do look very similar. I haven't seen the underhood of a LS1 camaro tho so I can't say is you could make it work for now or not.

Comparing the pics on Specialized Stainless, it looks like it's possible.

the latch as well as hinges and the cowl panel are all in the same spot, but i think you will run into fitment issues at the very leading edge of the front of the hood, with it trying to overlap.
