Default Posi carrier swap to non posi rear?

I was hoping I could aviod a complete rearend swap. I have a 3.23 posi and a regular 3.23 in the car. Is it possible to just swap over the posi carrier gear and bearings to the non posi rearend in the car all things being equal?

Thanks,
BILL

I don't see why not. In any case, the ring is not hard to take off and put back on the carrier.

You dont want to use the ring gear from one car and install it in another with a different pinion. The gears will whine. Now if you are talking about the ABS reluctor ring, thats fine. Do you have traction control or not?
