dyno and track #'s
a while back i dyno'ed my car, 488/431 (lq4/carb/procharger, A body chevelle)
i got a chance to make some passes yesterday, but with the old school trans/converter, the 1/8 times hurt me, esp getting to the 330' mark
the best i could do was 11.1, but the mph was 126, so i was making the power on top-the afr's appeared richer than on the dyno, down to 10.9-11.1, but wanted it on a safe tuneup, 93 octane-22 degs total
the boost was reading higher also, not sure if that was accurate or not
the thing that suprised me was the dyno gave me a readout of 126 mph, which is what i got at the track-a diff converter would net me a 10 sec pass easily, but its a street car first, and i didnt want a high stall converter making the flowmasters louder yet, lol
hopefully this winter i will install my 4l80e, then get rid of this 13" converter
its actually a dual stall converter, 1300/3000, but my little motor is hard pressed to reach that higher stall-all in all, not a bad day for my old school stuff
