Default Diff Cover Leaking

Just had my axles and axle bearings replaced at a performance shop.

I noticed tonight that there was some gear fluid under the TA girdle and traced it up to the pre-load bolts (green arrows in the picture).

They are supposed to be 5 ft-lb torque. Is it possible they overtightened and damaged the bearing caps?

If they did, is the whole cover trashed?

Thanks.

You can back them off and put some silicone on the threads and retorque them down. Common mistake, the threads are kinda loose, oversized, IMO.
