Default cant get fuel pump out

Hey, I'm new here..but not new to fbodies...Anyways, I'm trying to get the fuel pump out of a 2000 V6 Camaro. I cut the trap door so I didn't have to drop the tank.

I've been banging on the retaining ring forever and it's not budging. Really starting to **** me off, any helpful hints/tricks. Thanks.

I used a dull blunt chisel, cant really hit a screwdriver with any kind of force. Three slams and its off usually.
