97 V6 bird to a LS2? HARD?
Hey guys,
My brother has a 1997 V6 Bird and has had a LS2 sitting in his garage for about 4 years with 50 miles on it. His V6 bird finally kicked to bucket. Its an auto. which kinda sucks, but he want a daily driver anyways. (this would be a beast of a D.D.)
he as the vette computer to go with it!
What all would be needed in order for this original V6 car to hand the new V8.
Im talking down to the motor mounts guys, what ALL does he need to make this thing happen?

If it's a Vette LS2 then that ECM will work good, otherwise he'll probably want it tuned more specifically to what vehicle it came from.
He'll need a full wiring harness, dash and engine, from a 98-02, don't know if that PCM will hook up to a F-Body harness though. Instrument cluster SHOULD work since it's a 97. K-Member (whole thing) and trans cross member. Transmission from a 98-02, 6spd or 4L60E, which ever you prefer.
In other words, get a completely smashed rear, donor car with a bad motor or something. It'll save you money by having everything, and you'll have 98-02 front and rear brakes to upgrade to

its not really hard just time consuming..
there is a company out there that sells harnesses to fit exactly what you're looking to do. I don't know the name but I do know they are a bit pricey. TheMerv may chime in, he swapped out the LT1 for a LSX motor.
