Is this gonna be a major problem?
So I was about to bolt my heads down and noticed a lil scratch on the block surface from a chamber to a coolant jacket. 370" iron block. I can just barely feel it with my fingernail if I try to feel for it, and its probably less then a human hairs thickness it seems. I am worried due to it being a blower motor and I plan on pushing the D1SC to its limits on this.
Got quoted around $900 to have the block dissasembled, decked, then reassembled. From what I hear the MLS gaskets want the most perfect surface possible and I have some 5 layer GM MLS I was gonna run. Now I am wondering if I should try a graphite gasket instead or if I should risk the MLS, or just cough up all t hat $ to take a tiny scratch out. I have some crappy pics, I will try to get better ones, I really want to see what the FI community thinks about this though. I cant be the only one to have gotten a small scratch on the deck ever am I?
