Default Toasted a coupe Audi TT

Got lined up next to a last gen TT it didnt say quattro on it but the TT badges look like they were painted. i revved he did too the turbo sound was notible but i had almost a length on him by 50 from a dig with a really conservitive launch

next light i asked if it was the 3.2 he said no then we did a thirty roll where i got my hood on him by 55 and i slowed down.

i love audi kills

I had a newer TT follow me around for a few miles today and at the first light we came up too he got beside me but I didn't go for it. I just got a speeding ticket last week so I've been driving like a granny. Nice kill!

2.0L around 200 horsepower WV engine. Congratulations! Next time maybe you can step up and go against a Yugo with an arcing spark plug wire...

They do look like they should be fast though, but they have pretty much nothing until you get into the upper end models.

ya they are slow, this is playing with a mild modded tt when the gxp wasnt tuned. Notice the speedo when the gxp started trying, the gxp was only at around 70% throttle

yeah it was a pretty forgiving launch not really putting the throttle down untill i hit 25 or so. lots of things in tonka look like they should be fast thats why i always have to try....

Excuse the new guy as I put on my flame suit...my last car was a 03 GTI 1.8T and it comes stock with 180hp and most people put 170 to the wheels stock. My 1.8 would've smoked my Impala up till 100 (where 3rd gear runs out) and I'm guessing even part way through 4th.

I guess this what it's like on the other side because the opposite stories appear in the VW / Audi forums. Love my Impala though, but also loved my GTI...two different cars, two different classes. I have a timeslips somewhere, my GTI was a mid to upper 13's car (stock turbo, no nitrous). Not sure about the newer 2.0T, but the 1.8T was mid to low 14's with just a chip (what most stock LS4's seem to be running).

BTW I do love my SS.

i think the 1.8T is a better platfrom. Is it the same engine in the old A4's? because this is what my gxp does to a full bolt on, upgraded clutch a4 with 20 psi, that is said to run in the low 13's

That is complete bullshit. I have smoked so many 1.8T/2.0T GTIs and A4s both stock and modded in my area....they are slow as ***** and a dime a dozen. Young wealthy kids have them and they throw on an exhaust and CAI and a tune and suddenly they are driving a ******* F1 car. No.

If I ever loose to a stock GTI from 0-100 or 20-100 I will probably kill myself.

neil is correct i have raced a lot of those 1.8 audi and vw and its never been close a car length at 50 turns into a substantial distance in the quarter

my only loss to a 1.8 was to one with a huge spool on it that was making 300 whp

You're modded obviously. I'm just saying a stock Impala SS loses in anything a 1/4 mile or less to a 1.8 with a chip, intake and exhaust. And I have time slips to prove it.

I never said stock. Stock my 1.8 ran15 flat to low 15's. Chip alone puts it into the mid 14's.

Not sure what kind of racing or driving those drivers are doing or what mods they have, but anybody who knows racing and spends time at the track would agree with me. And the Audi's are heavier and after the launch the AWD hurts their performance.

2.0T does 0-60 7.5 stock, in the new GTIs..

1.8T had about 20-30 hp less.......

Stock, It's really hard for me to believe they would come close...(And I almost bought an 08 Candy white GTI...lol)

Chip, intake, turboback exhaust, boost controller, 4 bar regulator, vr6 clutch, g60 lightweight flywheel, short shift kit, upgraded diverter valve, and who knows what else i forgot. Nothing really too expensive. As things broke I upgraded (clutch, flywheels, etc.). Definitely not stock, but nothing crazy like a big turbo. The 1.8 are more mod friendly than the vr6's and r32. With the turbo all you need is a chip and some good gas and you get a 20% hp gain and even higher torque.

Both cars stock SS wins easy. Never disagreed with that.

BTW the only reason my engine died is my own fault because I didn't do the timing belt when I should've. Pretty good I thought for 160000 miles and hundreds of runs at the track. (drove it like i stole it)
