Thinking about getting a Trailblazer SS
I usually change vehicles every couple of years and it's about that time, so I've been looking at the 400hp 2007-2009 Trailblazer SS. I would go with black, RWD preferred, but AWD would be fine.
Any opinions on the TBSS? Would you trade your 06-07 Monte SS for one? I have 2 kids and it is a pain to slide the seat forward & back when they get in/out of the car. What other vehicles would please my inner car sole and still get the kids to and fro?

If you want a car that has more tranny problems go with the TBSS..... They love the service department at my local dealer..... My buddy is a GM service adviser and he told me that our cars (ls4's) and the TBSS's love the shop! If you find one under warranty I would go for it or try to finance a aftermarket warranty into it. Otherwise, I would be looking elsewhere. Jump on TBSS forums and ask around. I once considered this truck and decided if I were to go this route, I would go with a Grand Cherokee SRT8. Faster, less problems and better resale value. Also, I believe Chevy is coming out with a Silverado SS in the near future (again).

If you have to get the trans done out of pocke on a TBSS, wouldn't the R&R labor be a lot less? I would imagine that it would have to be, as you're don't need to drop the cradle or anything like that, to get it out.

i have the 1ss, everything just no leather and navigation, and rwd, i was told that the 2007 and up went to the upgraded internals, 2007 used plastic pistons
so far i love mine, smooth ride for a performance based truck, power is unreal, lots of room, very happy with my ss

Builds for the tranny on the TBSS are pretty cheap, and a lot easier to pull in/out.
I'd get either the G8GT or TBSS. I traded my ISS in for a TBSS last month. No regrets yet, just gas is a bitch now lol

The only drawback for me is the gas mileage. But with 400hp and 4700lbs it's to be expected. Another complaint I would have is it being a damn 4 speed. 4.10's is very nice, but cruising at 2400rpms at 70mph is a fail in my book. But overall I'm happy with my purchase for the Trailblazer.

Bigger, more comfortable, real aftermarket, more aesthetically pleasing, right wheel drive, towing capability, did I mention right wheel drive?

I traded my 06 Impala SS in for an 07 awd TBSS, about 3 and 1/2 years ago. By far a more practical, easier to live with vehicle, and it's alot quicker. One thing that helped me make my decision was my 06 Impala had a Vector tune, k&n intake, catless down pipe and a shift kit, and when I raced a stock TBSS, I could beat him. I told him to take his TBSS to Vector, and he did, and he could smoke me from a roll and a dig. Also, the mileage is only about 2-3mpg better at most.
