2006 GXP Oil Consumption/Alignment
I recently purchased a 2006 GXP and have excessive oil burn, 1 QT every 800/1000 miles. Also, when DOD kicks, I get a big plum of smoke out of the pipes. Dealer tells me this is normal operation and get used to it. Also, rear tires wear out at about 6000 miles. Alignment place tells me there is no way to adjust camber and want to grind up the $400 struts I just bought. HELP ANYONE!!!!

Both are known problems: Search and you will find both.
For the dealers comments on the oil burning and DOD/AFM there are TSB`s (technical service bulletin's) on the matter. search this site and www.gmls4.com

For the alignment ...do not let them grind anything! There are CAMBER adjustment bolts available thru MOOG (relatively inexpensive) which replace the existing bolts and allow for proper alignment to be done. (available at any parts jobber P/N MOOG K-5330)
