Default LS4 Alternator Rebuild

So ive been doing some searching...reading...and youtube video watching. How hard would it be for me to rebuild my alternator myself. i can get all the parts my self for around 40-50. although the only thing i really need is a regulator i might as well do it all while im in there

any advice or anything on how to or how difficult it is?

http://www.aspwholesale.com/

ok some more research. it looks like i can rebuild this whole alternator myself for under 25 bucks. on this site type in
06 pontiac grand prix. then click the 5.3 option they have everything in stock but the regulator (which is what i need) and when i search online i find that regulator for sale in tons of other places. what do you all think?

I started this thread on another forum and just wanted to copy the other post i had there.

I really wanna rebuild my own to save money and learn on. Anyone have any advice over here. And possibly links or access to know how to get the parts for our alternators

i looked into this when mine was failing but ended up just getting a new one. i thought i was coming up to about 75 or so for a rebuild, but that was a year ago.\

*Bump* I saw a blue retainer clip that disables the connector from being unplug. Slid it out with a paper clip and disconnected the plug.....lol
