Grand Am Brakes?
Any of you guys have any details on the grand am brake swap? For the kinda power we are looking to make, John @ M&H confirmed a 15" wheel is really in order. Anybody know what in all is involved with the Grand Am brake swap? I am having some trouble finding a thread online.

When I was in the N-body world doing the F-body brake upgrade involved F-body calipers, bolts, same brake lines and a 12" rotor off a an Impala.

I have a little test fitting to do this weekend
The T6 housings are definately large. I have a few customers running it like Steve's third gen:
With the v-band exhaust housing, it's much more compact (similar in size to a T4 frame) which should make packaging a lot easier. I still have to discuss with the guys, but most likely the exhaust is going aluminum and straight out the hood.

We'll see...this video kinda has me sold LOL

My biggest thing is I want to evacuate the source of heat as quickly as possible from the engine bay. I rather not snake a 4" tube all over the bay.

You have no idea how badly I wanted that to happen! LOL
We talked about that for a while, but there is no way of doing it to come out of both sides without running a bunch of unnecessary tubing, but maybe I would be happy with it just coming out the drivers side I dunno....
On my turbo caprice, I did something similar. I dumped the exhaust out the optional front fender-mounted marker lamp. Made for one really loud blinker

Dropped the subframe and got the motor and the transmission sitting on the ground. In the background you can see another spare aluminum subframe I snagged at my buddies salvage yard. I'm going to use it to fab up up some solid aluminum subframe bushings, and I also would like to touch up some of the factory welds and add a few gussets.
Stripped the motor down and made a pile of what we were keppeing, versus whats getting tossed or removed. The tossed pile grew rather quickly lol
In typical GXP fashion, the transmission had already been replaced at least once and the forward motor mount was broken in half. Surprise surprise.
Engine bay is stripped 90% now. Still a few more items to pull, then I can start the wire tuck/ filling holes & prepping for paint.

Might want to look into swapping over to a Saturn Vue electric power steering unit while you're at it. And swapping monte Carlos brake booster in.
Also I just built my fuel setup. I can tell you you'll want to ditch everything on the fuel canister first and get yourself a decent pump before going on with the turbo build. I'm now utilising a vette external filter/reg
