Any particular reason you are going with solid mounts?

That ****** turbo is the size of a basketball and the car probably wont have a full interior I'm guessing, the extra roughness from the mounts will probably only be noticed for 11 seconds or less lol.

Actually we are going to maintain a complete stock looking interior. The main reason for gutting it at this stage is to remove all the unnecessary components and wiring, light-weight carpet, remove sound deadening and etc.

We are chasing a few numbers with this car and there will be a big emphasis on traction. Keeping the drive-train locked will help put more power to the ground without changing axle angle and cetnerline from the hit all the way to the big end. Just makes everything more usable and predictable for what we are trying to accomplish.

Wow, I'm glad for that. The GXP interior is very sleek in my biased opinion. Cant wait to see this car come to completion, your work is really getting people motivated again it seems . Keep up the great work.

Figured out the exhaust manifold situation...

For the front I am keeping the stock LS4 manifold. I cut the 3-stud nonsense off the front and smoothed it all out. 2" V-Band fits perfectly on the end. The transition is mint.

For the rear manifold, I am using the passenger side from a truck. I cut the manifold off at the last primary and welded in some 2" Sch10 tubing reduced down to a 2" V-Band outlet.

Now I just need to clean them up and shoot with a fresh coating and new heat shields.

Very awesome build so far

Any plan to extrude hone the housings or anything? I know on a NA deal a ported manifold can be felt and difference can be seen in the logs for fuel and O2.

I will say that David from TEP told me that the torque converter for the 4t80 is larger and when mating to a 3800, it either requires modifying the flywheel or running a custom convertor. Not sure if this info would translate over to the LS4, but I thought I would throw it out there.

I have been absolutely slammed at the shop. My partner just got married so I have been banging everything out by myself the last few weeks. I will be back on the project very soon. I also have some cool new LS4 stuff about to drop.

Thanks I will consider that info.

We actually put the GXP on hold for a little while. Made a last minute decision to build a car for LS Fest, and due to the short time frame allotted we chose to build my Monte Carlo instead. Still using the same turbo, 4t80e and a fresh LS4, check out the build thread in this section.
