Default Backing Plates

Hey guys... my 08 rear backing plates are rotted and the local GM dealer and parts suppliers say those are discontinued...

I read on another forum that these backing plates are required for an operating parking brake... I want and need a parking brake...

anyone can offer some direction?

Rockauto has some, probably not for our model. For 10 bucks each it might be worth a try

Maybe search junkyards in the southern US states, there should be less or no rust on those. Ebay has lots of junkyards posting parts, it most likely will be GXP specific due to our brakes or there would be a million available. If I had to do it, I would do rear wheel bearings at that time, and anything else that has to be removed that was questionable.
