sound like opti goin bad?? i have a 96 formula with 127,000 miles on what appears to be the original opti. but everytime i try to crank the motor when its cold its gives me the hardest time before it lights, and about half the time i spin the motor to just 5600 rpms it misses for a bit then spins to 6k. but idk why

I'd change plugs and wires first to see if that will get rid of problems. But it could be your opti, my cousins was going out and it would miss higher in rpm's then it started to creap down the rpm band over time to the point where it would almost kill itself/not move. I'm sure others will chime in here in a bit to give their advice as well

Sounds like opti is slowly crappin out. And if it really is the original one, that is alot of miles for it. Stick with ACdelco possibly msd imo. I've heard not such good things about other brands. Good luck.
