is there a difference in lt1 blocks and a regular block?

Default is there a difference in lt1 blocks and a regular block?

lik the title says is there a differenc in the block or is it all in the heads i really need to no this because ive been lookin at shortblocks but if they hav to be lt1 specific then obviously they cant be used.

The water passages are significant for the LT1, so yes, it must be a LT1 block to use in a LT1 car unless everything is changed.

so ur sayin on the lt1 the passages r alot bigger can i hav the ones on a shortblock fixed to work or not worth it?

The whole timing cover area and water pump mounting area is different.

The passages all together are re routed so the heads get coolant first. Nothing from a conventional SBC will work on the top end without major modification.


With the exception of pushrods, lifters ect.
