LS1 Ram air hood on a LT1??????
I have a 96 ram air hood, a buddy of mine told me you cold chang out the front end and the hood to make it look like a ls1 ws6? is this true and where can i get it?

Yes you can.
And you can get it from an LS1 car. You pretty much need a donor car, so expect to pay a lot...
Probably should have bought an ls1 car to begin with. It'd be A LOT easier and probably cost the same.
Oh and LT1s look better, why would you want to do that!?

I hope to do that one day. LS1 Camaro with an LT1 front end. I'd prefer the LT1 front end as opposed to the catfish look.

I actually didn't make too much off of it and after paint I'll actually be in the negative quite a bit. I sold the stuff for:
SS Hood - $350 shipped.
Headlights - $110 shipped
Fenders - Sitting in my back yard.
Bumper Cover - Sitting in my back yard.
Bumper Core - Sitting in my front yard.
And I paid $420 shipped for an LT1 SS hood, fenders, brackets, headlights, etc (almost the whole front end) and another $50 for the bumper cover. Then after I add in the fact I HAVE to get a paint job (the fenders and hood are a different color) it mite not have been the greatest move but the LT1 SS hood is SICK.
To the OP, why would you want to ruin a WS6? Those things are semi-rare and one day could hold some value. I'm not saying keep it stock, but the look itself is getting rarer. It will stand out more as it is.

The kid I bought my car from had put the TA aftermarket fiberglass hood on her. I think it looks great without the TA nose...
I have no idea what he paid for it, because it's not a great fit; although it's adequate and it's not an active Ram-air. But I have thought about glassing in an intake to make it active. Like you, I'd love it, but the priority is in the performance department...
And the big money HATES IT when they get run down by the beater you see in the avatar... She's not the fastest thing out there, but she's faster than most and by no small margin.

i think for an LT1 you should just do the LT1 ram air hood/airbox... it looks better imo.
i went from this
to this
for ~ $1200 (including all the parts plus the painting and installing the hood as well as painting the roof because it had some white flakes starting) and the painting of the intake was done during a manifold gasket change, not due to the ram air. The hood is a real GM (well the company that originally made them for GM, and mine was a prototype) and so is the airbox
