Default Transmission question..

I have a 1996 4wd suburban that was involved in a accident.. Will my 4L60-E transmission bolt on to my cousin's 94 LT1??? thanks!

im pretty sure it wont because the bellhousings are different. I thought the same about my 98 blazer and 95 ta but they wouldnt work. hopefully some one will chime in that knows for sure.

Yes it will bolt on, but it will not function correctly. The 3-2 downshift solenoid has a different resistance on the '96 on up transmssions and the '96 has a PWM TCC solenoid in the valve body, where the '94 uses a on-off TCC with no PWM functions. The '93-'94 4L60E is kind of a bastard child transmission, only those years will interchange directly. I am sure there are ways around the electronic issues, but if you are looking for a bolt and go, not gonna happen. Is the '94 LT1 4WD by chance? If not, you will have to change the output shaft in the transmission, and then you may as well rebuild the '94 transmission at that point!!!
