is it ok to buy a gm opti and use a autozone cap&rotor

No seriously, it will be fine, just make sure the rotor is put together well and locktite the small screws that hold it down, on the cap make sure it sets flat and seals good (you can blow light air through it and feel for leaks. Also make sure the terminals are all solit in the cap.

I always put a little bead of silicone on the mating surfaces too and I have never had one fail from moisture.....fall apart from high speed rotation, yes, but never from moisture.

Why would you use an autozone cap & rotor? As shoebox points out, the GM opti will come with a cap & rotor.
