Ive done it (well still need to wire up the gauge cluster) Everything bolts up, you need the pillers, dash panel and a ls1 center console though.

BTW...sorry for the thread hijack, anyone know how to hook up the speedo and backlight on the ls1 cluster to the lt1 wire harness?

Here is a write-up. Contains everything you will need.
Good luck finding a 97 cluster. I am still looking for one in half way decent condtion. Most sellers on ebay claim to not know the mileage!

When you get the cluster from a 93-97 Trans Am or 97 Z28 you need the pig-tail also. You will have to cut the 93-96 Z28 pig-tail off and splice the new one on by color matching the wires.

I know the backlight is a gray wire..the LS1 Cluster should have a Speedo Input..you look at a Wiring Diagram at all?

:
Ls1 cluster will not function in an Lt1 car...tach,fuel gauge will not work you will need to find a 97 z28 cluster or a 94-97 trans am cluster.

I plan on running aftermarket gauges for the fuel and tach, just need to get the backlighting and speedo hooked up. I checked out the wiring diagram in the link above. Hopefully it will work? If not, ill try and find the 97 cluster

The dealer should have a the harness connector as I ordered one the other day. We will know for sure if it ever shows up. Who knows with GM(Government motors).

1993 Trans Am cluster if it's a 93 Z28 is the closest your going to get. I tried a 1997 cluster in my 93, tachometer didn't work. Some thing to do with the factory tach filter.

Default tach

so i have a 93 camaro, wired everything up for the 97 cluster and it all works besides the tach, did some research and it was suppose to be from the tach filter(changes high voltage to low voltage) after by passing the tach filter it still doesnt read right, with the tach filter it reads 500 rpm at idle, car idles and 1000. and without tach filter it reads 2500 at idle, and with or with out when i give it gas it goes down to zero.....sorry for the book, but does anyone have any ideas or anything?
