Default Changing BCM

Anyone know what all is involved in changing the Body Control Modual besides replacing the actual part on the car? I have a 97z28 and I have tried to fix the one that is in the car by soldering the conections agian but it is still acting up. Will I have to have the thing programed by the dealer or can I do it?

If it is a new one, it should be plug and play. The security will program itself at the first key ON sequence. Any other function customization that you had done to the previous one would have to be redone by you. If it is not a new one, you have a 1 in 15 chance that the VATS is even going to work.

Cool, Yea I think I am going to do a new one. This problem is so common I may have a 1 in 15 chance that I end up with the same problems again lol. Thats the kind of luck I have. Cool so a new one is plug and play as long as it has never seen a key cycle.
