Default header gaskets

hi i got percys aluminum header gaskets, did anyone who uses them put the high temp rtv on them or just run them down without it?

Are you talking about the dead soft, multi-layer aluminum gaskets? I didn't use any RTV, and I don't think it's recommended.

Never use RTV to seal exhaust components. No RTV in the world can stand up to exhaust temperatures for any period of time. You do that the sealant will blow out in a matter of minutes. Aluminum/steel gaskets should only be used if it's ensured that both mating surfaces are near perfectly flat. Any imperfection that is outside the tolerance of such a gasket and exhaust gasses will leak. I've always used a Fel-Pro 1406 with great success.
