CC503 or GM846, will it pass emissions with a tune??
THe LT1 cam guide sticky says they will with tuning. I was hoping to hear from a few who are running either of them and have passed emissions. I will be running LT's, with a catted y pipe and a TSP Rumbler cat back. stock head and bottom end.
I'm trying to decide between the 2.

I'm also considering the Lloyd Elliot 224/230 .573/.568 cam. His website says its the largest emissions frinedly cam he recommends. and its bigger lift wise than either of the 2 i listed

Lloyd spec'd me his 223/230 .565/.565 112lsa cam for my emissions build. Up here in Toronto, Canada its a little more forgiving but im not sure how strict it is where you are. Ive heard the cc503 passing but good luck passing a cc306 just not going to happen. When i was talking to AI they spec'd me a 222/230 112lsa cam. Bottom line is if your on a budget and buying used get the 503 otherwise opt for a custom grind by le or ai and stay under the 230 duration and you should be fine. Both of the custom grinds will make roughly 15rwhp more then the cc503. Another key part is cats you will need and i suggest the fullsize cats vs spun or bullet cats which dont have alot of minerals in them to help make the cam pass the sniffer.

my car is a 97, I have all the dtc's regarding emissions disabled through a tune that solomon gave me. Will I pass the test? all they do is hook up the obd2 scanner I think. I don't think they'll sniff it. BTW, my cars mods are in sig.
edit: Also I have no check engine lights on at all.

Im in NY as well. Your car should have failed the visual for obvious reasons. Since it's OBDI is does not get hooked to the NYSDMV computer to get run through. The OP's car is OBDII and he gets a sniffer test. Having the tune cleared for codes, simply won't throw codes which would get it to pass if that is all they were looking for. In his case they are also going to sniff test the car. No getting around that. Maybe toss some 1.5 rockers on it if you have some laying around that will work to slightly decrease the overlap, get the tune dialed, and hope for the best. I'm not sure what effect raising or lowering the idle speed would have on the test. Maybe someone else could chime in?
