97 camaro lt1. car dies when under load but if i baby it and keep it under 3500rpm it seems to be ok. when car would shut off i would disconnect the battery for a minute and it will fire right up but that didn't work the last couple times and had to be towed, next day the car fired right up. car has new optispark new plugs and wires new fuel pump, the car has a check engine light on with the crank sensor code but i think thats the hyper tech program tried two new gm sensors light still came on instantly i rest the car back to stock and light went off then i programmed the car with the power programmer and light came back on. i dont think that has anything to do with the car shutting off when the engine is under a load. a friend said to try the fuel presure reg but if that dosent work what should i look at next. im taking shots in the dark at this shut off problem any suggestions would be great .

when did you changa the fuel filter last?

changed the filter when i did the pump, haven't driven it in the stock program just noticed the light went out with the stock setting and went back on with the power setting. i had the power programmer on since i bought the car to change the speedo for the 373 rear. i'm going put it on the stock setting and drive it an see what happens just have to renew my AAA before i take it out

i had the computer cleared by a gm tech at the dealer when we swapped the crank sensors and light still came back at startup but that was with the power program. if the car dies with the stock setting and with the light out what should i try next?

try checking the fuel volume with a gauge or maf sensor
