Default Identify this part

I am replacing my ABS with SJM kit but need to know what this part is.

The car is a 97 Trans Am.

Thanks in advance.

That's part of the AIR pump recall components. You need it if you want to retain the functionality of the AIR injection system.

Is that down below the driver's side head? I have a blue and red pigtail just hanging under there, no idea what it's for. Car is virtually all stock, has all emissions, ABS and TCS, all working.

Yes it is just below the drivers side head. It is actually attached to the AIR tube. I'm considering ditching the AIR system but as it's ODBII it's just another problem to overcome!

do they just plug in your car for inspections like most OBDII here in the states? if so its very easy to ditch the AIR, just tune it out of the pcm

No, visual inspection only although I believe that might be changing. Maybe when I get the car tuned on a dyne I'll have them tune it out and then I'll delete all AIR components.

Ok, deleted the air system entirely.
Just have to think about tuning It out now.
Now, must finish sjm install, but cutting brake lines is making me apprehensive!!
