3rd gen camaro LT1 swap, need cam help
Hey guys, I've been reading on here for quite some time but have rarely posted. Thought i'd share my most recent project and get some advice on a cam i may be getting from a fellow LS1Tech member.
The motor is a bone stock LT1 from a 97 camaro, 50K miles, shorty headers, true dual 2.5in mandrel bent exhaust, and a t56.
The cam is a 218/218 .495/.495 114LSA
what kind of power could i expect out of this thing and would it work on stock heads (except springs of course)? do the valve guides support that kind of lift?
Let me know

If the cam's already in, you should see decent power, even from a single pattern cam. Those lift numbers are on 1.5 rockers, I take it. 1.6 will yield .528" lift and effectively lengthen the duration by a degree or so. 1.7 will give you .561".
If you're looking for a good cam with proven and predictable results, have a look at the camshaft and valvetrain selection guide in the stickies. If you're looking to make use of a cam you've already got, you may want to reconsider and look for a used one in good shape that will give you better results. With shorties, you'll need a little exhaust duration help. The Crane 227 might be a good choice for you...
Gorgeous ride, BTW.
