Default Best way to remove a cam pin?

Need to remove a cam pin and am looking for a tried and proved method. New cam came and it has a short pin. It's a couple thousandths short of 1/4 inch in diameter, but I think I can come up with a pin.

Believe it or not it is called a pin puller. It is like a miniature slide hammer. I tried everything to get mine out and it was even a bitch getting it to come out with the pin puller. I have had a few that I have been able to get with vise grips....I seen one at Advance in the tools section furthest to the right on the top rack. BTW the long pin is one inch

Pulled the pin today. It's easy. Clamped the pin in a vise and pried up with a screwdriver. Made a new pin and all is well. From the looks of the pin I thought it was a regular 1/4 inch dowel pin, it's not. It's about 3 thousandths undersized, that's why I had to make it.
