Default 96 T56 into 94 Camaro

Hey guys I just have a quick question. After 138,000 long miles my t56 decided to take a dump on me. I found a t56 locally out of a 96 camaro. Should it be a bolt in swap or is there anything that I will have to do to make it fit. I know my car is OBD1 and the 96's are OBD2 so I dont know it that will make a difference.

94-97 manuals were all T56. You are good to go.

When you say it took a dump, meaning rough shifting, needs new synchros etc or was there some major failure? If something major isn't wrong, why not get it rebuilt? Probably cost less than another used one and would be close to brand new after a professional overhaul.

1-2 and 3-4 syncros are dunzo. I plan on rebuilding it, but I'm exploring other options of buying a trans already built, putting it in the car, rebuilding the one in there now, and selling it for a small profit.
