Default A little help needed.....

Im swapping from FI to Carb setup and Im having some small problems making sure I get the right parts. My issue starts with the alternator. I cannot run a normal accessory bracket due to my limited space. I am running this motor in a Porsche 944 Turbo. The alternator bracket I purchased is one from Alan Grove components.

The discription of this product states that a Corvette balancer must be used not a F-body balancer. A stock corvette balancer for 1996 is 2 1/8" thick. The f-body balancer for 1996-1997 is 1 3/8" thick. The two balancers have different belt alignments. This is where the issue is.....

Finding a balancer that is 2 1/8" with timing marks. Now looking at this balancer which is listed in the swap list.....

If you go through the instructions, the install between a fbody and ybody are exactly the same? How is that possible when the factory balancers are different thicknesses? Using the same hub, same bolts, same balancer, now they all magically become the same?
