Default 95 Trans Am burning too much carbon monoxide??

hi i have a 95 trans am. i have noticed that its been burning too much carbon monoxide. you can smell it 5-6 feet away and i think it leeks into the car. i checked the exhaust for leaks but didnt find any. the car had been sitting for 5 years until i started to drive it again.

CO is odorless. This is why people die in their homes. If you are concerned you could leave a CO detector in your car and drive around. How much gas was in the tank after 5 years?

Carbon Monoxide doesnt burn..it's a product of combustion. What you are smelling is probably the normal exhaust.

lol do you mean carbon dioxide? Its part of whats in the fuel exhaust so lets just call it fuel. Did you do any type of maintenance before driving after sitting for 5 years? Sounds like its running really rich.

Do a full tune up first... flush and replace all fluids, new plugs and wires, etc...

A lil off topic, also check your tires or have them replaced. I know its got nothing to do with exhaust gasses, but safety comes first.
