Default 94 LT1/T56 into 97

I have searched and come up with a bunch of incomplete info, or threads that just end with no results posted.

My question.

Can I take the LT1/T56 out of my 94 Z28 and Bolt them directly into a 97 TransAm?

What issues am i going to run into?

It will bolt up, but won't run. Pretty sure you'll have to change out the cam, will have to change out the timing cover and use a vented optispark and vented o-spark harness. Pretty sure the connections to the cam-to-opti are different between OBDI and II. The later timing cover will accommodate for the crank position sensor and reluctor wheel (not necessary to run the engine, but will throw SES if using OBDII pcm). There's probably more to it, but I can't think of anything more right now.

It will run fine. Which PCM and harness you decide to use will make the difference in what needs to be done/changed. There are a few minor other details but they are easily defeated.
