Hey! Based on this thread the owner of my old Formula did a similar swap after grenading an RPM 4L60E at the track on a 100 shot. He went with an ATI TH350 6" tailshaft, reverse manual valve body, trans brake with an ATI 4800 converter. Its amazing how much lighter their converter is when compared to the Vig it replaced. Anyway, He's got a new chromoly DS ordered, and is waiting to button the whole thing back together by the end of the week.

Seeing as he was deep in the 1.30s 60' on the 100 shot with the old set up, we are at least hoping for that with the swap. Hopefully he'll get that elusive 10.90 N/A and 10.20s on the spray. Thanks for a great write up.

Nice man, still on the baby cam??? I tossed around the idea of a TH350, but after messing with springs and junk in my 700r4 I would love a computer controlled transmission for once to experiment with shift points .

Good to see you dropping by.

I just destroyed my 6speed on the highway sunday....U joint let go or so i think... could of been the clutch. It blew the clutch out the front of the dust shield. Completely destroyed the bell housing. Haven't seen the tranny but i almost garentee it's gone. Drive shaft gone and exhaust ripped off.

So I'm planning on doing a TH350 swap...trying to pick a converter now..i'm thinking a 8 inch 4k stall..But might go a little bigger since the car will get a small cam this winter.

gotta get the cage ceritifed and move my batt to the back then ill be out for more testing..its a totally differnt car now, i need to dive back into the suspension tuning and tire pressures along with the tune.....im confident its got a decent amount more in it we will see soon.....and fwiw the clean neutral setup from coan is the *****....thing is awesome just click it to neutral after the stripe and it coasts down nice and easy no noize no nothing its a great setup
Just curious if you went faster with that th350 over the 4l60 e.t gains

Thanks! Yeah the car still has the same weenie 226/234 Joe Overton spec'd cam. Before I sold the car we went through the top end with new/rebuilt by Comp Hi Tech stainless rockers, new guide plates, new hardened push rods, new Howards Cams lifters, and a new oil pump drive, just because everything was 17 years old and we were chasing a squeak that turned out to be a kooks header gasket (lol)

Since then the new owner replaced the valve springs, added a racetronix in tank pump and wiring, and dumped the exhaust after the X with Vibrant race mufflers. And added a Nitrous Outlet 100 shot with a progressive controller. After grenading the 2nd 4L60E he went to ATI and got serious. We'll see what happens with the new set up. He almost put in on the bumper off the foot brake on the 100 shot just before the 60E let go. With the suspension under the car its going to get interesting.

I ran an almost identical CMotorsports grind in my 350, loved it. Wasn't nearly as fast as yours though, only got 11.7x's out of it before I garaged it for the new build.

LOL like three .

I got distracted by other projects but I'm back on it, hoping for break-in/tune on the engine dyno sometime in October.

I know this is an old thread, but do you have any info on the wiring changes that had to be made from the 4l60e to the th350? Maybe LT1 cars are different but my LS1 4l60e has a big plug on the side of the shifter with a bunch of wires going to it, and the car won't fire with it unplugged?
