My car randomly will not start and it usually happens once it heats up. I know it is not a fuel issue. So far I have replaced the icm and coil and it is still doing it from time to time. My opti is a year and a half old but its the cheap Chandler one off Ebay. Once the car starts it runs fine....your input is much appreciated. BTW no check engine light and no security lights. Engine will crank but just wont fire. Have checked power to the opti from ECM and it checked out fine. just dont know how to test the opti because its damn near impossible to get to plus the problem doesnt happen that often.

Most likely is the opti. Mine would do the same thing, car would warm up and die then not start. cool down a bit and refire and be fine.

Thanks man. It also has a little popping noise out the exhaust that is intermittent, any chance you had that too? This only happens when its running

I've had a knock sensor go wacky on me. Could check that or find your block grounds and make sure they are in good condition.

Mine never backfired or anything just would die and not want to start, only had the problem a few times before I put the new opti in and it was fine.
