Default Minimum safe distance for steel fuel line near exhaust pipe?

My steel fuel lines come rather close to my TD exhaust and I am trying to determine what the minimum safe distance should be. I have the fuel feed and the return lines wrapped in heat sock and they are a tad over an inch from the pipe right under the driver seat.

Thoughts???

I've often wondered the same. On one of my LT1 cars, I'm trying something called inswool ceramic fibre. 1" thick, it is used to line forges. A buddy of mine build a couple of forges and gave me some to wrap around my lines. up to 2300* on one side, near-ambient on the other.

buy some header wrap and put it around the exhaust where the fuel line is.

As for distance between the 2 it should be 1" min to allow for cooking. But exhaust dont get as hot as headers, but it can still make fuel lines bubble.
