95_Z-28_runner

I have a 94 z28 runs and drives but security light remains on. I cut the orange shrink wrap side of the wiring for the key reader and stripped the wires sottered the male connect side from the key side and plugged it in with my resistor pack in the purple wire and white black wire female connector and still a security light. I did this on another car and worked perfect but I don't know what's up with this one????? The value from the key pellet is 3.366 Kohms and my packs value is 3.270 any help would be great, thanks
