Project Stocker
A few years ago I ran a thread on here where I worked with some kids from my Church on a stock internals LT1 build. Those kids all grew up and moved on. That left the Firebird sitting in my driveway for a couple of years. Well, last week I recruited a couple of guys to bring her back to life!
At her best. We were able to index in Stock Eliminator with stock internals.
This weekend. Jordan and Cory with the old girl sitting on dry rotted tires.
The goal is to get the car running in the next few weeks and use it to teach these kids how to drag race. Should be fun!

Glad to hear the car is going to get back to the track, especially a LT. Just dont run a buck twenty under and we will all be happy. I have a hard enough time getting my stuff to qualify as is, lol.

It's good to see a great project get new life and get some new blood into the sport. You have an awesome dedication to both drag racing and today's youth.
So, what keeps that car out of Street Stock this year?

Gump is now officially retired and I have a second COPO on order, so if I come to this years Shootout it will most likely be with this car.

Just curious, where is your "home track"? Mooresville Dragway? I've been wanting to take mine out just to see what it'll do now I've got some sticky tires...but zMax dragway 10 minutes from me is being super this year and has not scheduled any test and tune days. I'd really prefer a full 1/4 mile track over 1/8th....looks like an hour drive to "The Rock" Rockingham dragway is the only full 1/4 option, never been there other than to drive past that town on the way to the beach. Any suggestions?

Technically, my home track is Shadyside. I run there sometimes, but it is not well prepared for test and tune. On race days it is usually awsome. I am a big fan of Mooresville, Farmington, and Union, but they are all eigth mile. So, Rockingham is probably the best bet if you must run the quarter. It is a shame that there is no test schedule for Charlotte this year. That is a great track, but super expensive to operate.

Good to see the younger generation getting some wrench time.

Great stuff Daren. Last year and a half I've put racing and modding on the back burner but I really want to see what I can do to max my car out with bolt on's probably going to have mike v tune it on the dyno and rip some more weight out of her. As of now I plan to be at the shootout but spectating only. But we'll see. I always seem to dig up enough cash to make the haul come a month before!
I hope you and the wife are well and things are going good.
