Rear brake problems.

Rear brake problems. Alright, so I just put on new rotors and pads. I have ls1 front brakes and Lt1 rear brakes. The front brakes work just fine, but the back brakes act like they aren't disengaging fully when I'm driving. It sounds they are continuously scraping against the pads and what not. Have I missed something? Is there a special way to depress the rears?

There is a plate that pulls the cylinder capturing the piston out when the hand brake is used. This plate is either out of adjustment, worn and corroded and is impacting the normal motion of the piston cylinder. Got to take the caliper apart and address the plate. This plate makes is what makes the hand brake so temperamental and is the primary cause for hand brake issues on LT1 rear brakes. Sometimes it slips on the cylinder with the piston, other times its just stuck. The design is just stupid and thank God it was not used past 98. I went LS1 rear brakes just to have a reliable rear parking brake.

I would agree with it possibly being the handbrake hanging up, all 4 of my t1 cars have had an issue with the rear brakes because of the hand brake getting stuck or breaking.
