Who are considered to be the best tuners?
I'm thinking about getting a tune to my 97 TA. I've been out of the hobby a long time until recently. Who should I be considering when looking to get a tune?

I always used Ed Wright @ FastChip. He sold his shop/dyno a few years ago but I believe he still does "mail order".
There certainly are others out there. Ideally doing the tune on a dyno will nail it better but mail order tunes have proven to be very good. When I have had my "mail order" tune on dynos to see what the #'s are....the AF and fueling have been spot on

Not many LTx tuners left. The ones that can choose not to. Slim pickins now.
My best suggestion is Ed Wright on here. If he's still doing them.
I know PCMfor less still does them but from what I've heard/read, customer service hit bottom. Ion at madz28 still does some LTx stuff.
The only other choice is 24x swap. Much easier to find a good tuner, software easier and faster, etc, etc.
Tuning was the main reason I went 24x.

"tuning" computer cars is a skill set that not only requires knowledge of the software involved but a mechanical knowledge also. While I know my way around a wrench pretty well....tuning computer cars is something I leave to a qualified source. IMHO Ed is probably the best qualified in the field.
PCM4less....I have met Mr Herter....that experience was enough to decide I would never let him sit in my car let alone tune it. This opinion is based on how I felt he is as a person. I have no experience on his tuning skills...some like him and others have had "issues" with his work.

I used MadTuner in the past, but my computer is being programed by Solomon right now. Just google "LT1 pcm tuning". Only $145 including return shipping and the guys on LTXtech have a lot of good things to say about him.

Then after his fine tuning of my tuning, I've further fine tuned it. LOL. I gotta get it back on the rollers and see how it looks now. Maybe next weekend.
