Default 255 lph fuel pump install

Hello
Im stumped.

i got the whole sending unit out and seperated the cage thing

there is not a hole at the bottom. it looks like there is something in it
do i need to drill it out to put a aftermarket pump in or do i just put it in as normal.

the bottom of both pumps are slightly different

thanks
dave

I don't remember modifying anything... I think it was all plug and play with the granatelli kit I used (walbro in a different box). That was a few years ago though, dunno if it's different now.

I just installed my Aeromotive Stealth 340 yesterday and no revisions. Are you using the factory bucket and putting the pump inside? If so the filter sock is on the bottom nipple of the bucket and just inside the nipple is a rubber flapper/check valve that prevents the bucket from draining out but allows for fuel to be pulled in. Not sure if we are talking about the same thing or not...

If memory serves, the inlet on the 255 is offset compared to the stock pump inlet. You will have to trim the ribs out of the fuel bucket to make it fit. Then epoxy the bucket back together. It is important to use the fuel bucket. It keeps the pump cool once the fuel tank level drops below the level of the pump.

This may help:
