Default What should I be asking?

Guys a place in Charlotte called Poteats Engine Building sales rebuilt motors. They said with a core exchange, they can sale me a rebuilt stock lt1 for 1,100 dollars. Both my heads are cracked on mine and they said that would be an additional 200 dollars. So, I am looking at a stock rebuilt lt1 for around 1,300 with a 2 yr/24000 mile warranty.

What you think fellows? What type of questions should I be asking them? They said just give them the specs, and it takes them about 10 days to build it.

That's a heck of a deal. I'd ask to see a list of parts and machine work and compare with other vendors. That said, I think rock auto is about $1900 without the core on a lt1 long block.

I'd ask for a list of references, and then call them and see how the product worked.

Also ask for a complete list of parts, just like transmissions, a shop might only replace a bad part then they call it a "Rebuilt" make sure it has new parts and ask what it is bored to, You certainly do not want a 60 over.

I am going to email or call and ask about everything you guts mentioned. I think but could be wrong but they will rebuild you an engine according to the specs you tell them, so if I want just a stock lt1 put back in mine than I just need to look up the specs for a stock lt1 engine?

Guys spend more than that refreshing their own stock engines.

I would expect a lot of reused original parts and anything replaced to be a big step backwards from stock for that price.
