Default Still having fun with my LT1

I took the old pig out to Fontana yesterday for a test and tune day, knowing that track prep would be better than a street legal day. It's been over two years since I've had the car out (life, job, other priorities, etc.), and I decided that I either start enjoying the car again or get rid of it.

I had a blast. The weather was nice, met the guy who tuned the car (my friend now too) out there in his shop's supercharged 2014 C7 along with a few other of his friends/customers, and we had a blast. The car ran fairly well, considering ~1900 DA and the driver's lack of any real seat time of late. It ran an 11.033 @ 123 with a 1.48 sixty foot. First time I ever used the trans brake - what fun, and a renewed interest in the old LT1.

A bit more seat time, better air and some small shock adjustments, and I think it's got a solid 10.8X in it, as it sits. This winter, perhaps a progressive 200 shot?

We'll see.

Nice...I had a similar situation and had a long hiatus from the car...and then I figured build what I want or get rid of it...now it's a finished stroker and I'm really happy I kept it. Good luck on the 10's

Michael, best thing is you got the car down the track again.

I was on biz so could not make it to Fontana this week. Track prep there is usually....well you know.

Try Famoso when they have NHRA T&T usually in January. They keep a lane for "street" cars as most are trailer cars, IHRA & NHRA, and guys running license passes. NHRA member was $50 last time I went otherwise $100. but you can make as many passes you want and the usual "street legal" crap is not there......and the track prep is real

Been to Fontana & Famosa dozens of times on "street legal" days.....loooooong time between runs at Fontana
