Default Unknown Sensor in 1997 Pontiac Formula

Hello my F-Body friends!!! I have a serious question about a couple sensors which I have no clue what they connect too. I had bought a 1997 Pontiac Formula which turned out to have a horrible engine, so I started to swap it completely with another engine and put new parts inside and outside the motor. When doing so I found there were a couple sensors which I don't have any idea where they go. They're connected to the body of the car near the drivers side under the hood. I want to say somewhere to the engine but I cannot be to sure and I don't want to risk putting the engine in harms way. Another question is that I am unable to crank the engine at all now, I have a new starter and when I turned the key nothing happened so I was guessing it could have been a corroded cord or something isn't connected right to the engine. Now could this be because the sensors are not connected or something more? Please, any help would be amazing because its almost complete and this is the last hump of my journey with this car!

This is one of the sensors I have no clue where it goes...

This is the big sensor which I also have no clue about but both go inside the car.

Sky, welcome to LS1tech!

Your 1997 Formula has a LT1 engine so your post/question was moved here to the LT1 section.

The top picture looks to be the AIR pump connector but I'm not sure...I'll go look real quick(yeah, that's it). The other is some kind of solenoid(AIR pump bleed?) located next to the air pump. See the red connector in these pictures.

The second picture looks to go to the ABS motor pack. It's a black box next to the ABS modulator...that plugs into the underside of it. However, I'm not sure it has enough wires for that though...I think my '96 has 6 wires going to the ABS motor pack.

Check the motor pack at the bottom of this picture.....the black box under the brake lines.

It might also go to the cruise control module or maybe even traction control module if the car had it. Those are some big gauge wires which I think would be powering a motor of some sort.

For your no start condition, here are some troubleshooting charts and schematics from my '96 F-body manual. Is the Security lamp on or flashing after turning the key(not during the lamp check when all of the dash lamp indicators turn on)?
