96 z28 m6 to auto swap
I recently bought a 1996 z28. It was origanally an m6. Still has clutch pedal assembly in the car lol. It now has a 700 r4 from a 3rd gen camaro. My problem is I bought it from a 17 year old kid who has no idea what was done and what wasn't. I'm looking to return it to glory but I need help because I can't affor the t56 right now. I can buy a 4l60e tomorrow from a 95 z28. What should I do? Make the 700r4 work or buy the 4l60e from the 95 and make it work. Please help.

Well the '95 4L60E is slightly different from '96+ and won't easily work. I can't remember the specifics but I know someone has posted about it before. The wiring is the issue. But you don't even have the wiring available to run it anyway.
The 700R4 MIGHT work but would require the T/V cable hooked up or you will burn it up quick. You would also need to wire the lockup for it and it might need a TPS signal. It would probably be the cheapest and easiest option.
I think I would just be saving for a T-56.

Yea I know. I found a few threads that were helpful on making the 700r4 work but I'm almost sure the guy I got it from burnt the tranny up long ago as there is no TV cable installed. I missed out on a wrecked 6 speed car same year and all for $800. Only missed it by five minutes made me sick. But I'll defin be saving for that t56
