Default what dose valve float feel like

Just a question I got my car out of the garage yesterday. took it down the road and at about 5500 to 6000 rpm it feels like I hit the rev limiter it just goes flat. The rev limiter is at 6300 or 6500 not sure how accurate the factory tack is. The car has been sitting for some time. I have had the car 10 year and put maybe 10,000 miles on it. I have some parts to put on the car but I have a oil leak to fix before I put any more parts on the car. Just wondering if valve spring are next on the list.

It feels just like the description in your second sentence in my personal experience. Or even like driving something that has a governor and you hit it.

The absolute way to tell is on the dyno. Mine had it bad at 6K RPM with a problematic cam. On the chart, the power line instantly nose-dived right at 6K RPM rather than leveling out or gradually falling off like you would expect.
